Played collegiate golf at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he won 5 individual titles over the course of a 4-year playing career that also included 2 top 5 finishes in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship.
Played professional golf for 9 years after graduating from UNC, with degrees in English and Political Science, in 1990. Won 25 tournaments on various mini-tours and competed in 9 PGA Tour Qualifying Tournaments (Q-School). Also, successfully qualified for 5 PGA Tour events via Monday qualifiers.
Over the course of his junior, collegiate, and professional golfing career, Brendan had the good fortune of working with and learning from a number of the game's greatest teachers, including: David Leadbetter, Butch Harmon, Jim McClean, Mac O'Grady, Jim Flick, Bob Toski, John Redman, Mike Bender, Brian Mogg, Carl Lohren, Robert Baker, Harold Swash, Fred Griffin, Phil Rodgers, Dave Pelz, Gregor Jamieson, Dr. Bob Rotella, Dr. Richard Coop, Chuck Hogan, Ken Crowe, Dick Tiddy, Mitchell Spearman, Bill Moretti, and a host of former/current PGA Tour players.
